The more we talk to different women and sources about blending, the more we think the terms Super Hero and #SuperBlender are actually interchangeable. This week, we talked to Kate Horney of BeyondFit Mom. Kate created BeyondFit Mom “to give women like you – and me – everything we need to reach our fat-loss, health, energy, nutrition, and training goals. It’s not about a quick-fix program which leaves you floundering after a few weeks. It’s about results now and in the future.”
When you add in parenting two (beautiful) children and a marriage, you can see how Kate’s life would definitely ask for some blending. Read on to see some of the things she’s learned and experienced!
What is the hardest part about blending all of the different places you have a hand in?
The hardest part of blending everything for me is TIME. It’s not uncommon for me to catch myself using the “I don’t have time” excuse when life gets busy…. I never want to sacrifice what’s important simply because I “don’t have time” so managing TIME and my PRIORITIES is crucial. I no longer allow myself to use the words: “I don’t have time.” Instead, I say, “It’s not a priority.” That helps me keep my schedule in check and make sure that I’m keeping first things first.

What are some of the biggest things you've learned in this process?
The biggest thing I’ve learned (and am still learning- I’m a total work in progress) is that how you choose to spend your time defines your priorities. When I say I “don’t have time” what I'm really saying is that it’s not important. It’s not a priority. Many times that’s a perfectly suitable explanation. I have time to dust my blinds, I just don’t want to…
But other things are harder….
Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.
Where do you spend your time? Just like keeping a “time journal”, try tracking your time over the next few days in 30-minute blocks. How much time do you spend on the computer, watching TV, playing with your kids, working on your business, etc? It may surprise you.
There you have it, guys! We are so thankful that Kate would take the time to let us in and share freely. Take her advice - she knows what she’s talking about! Thanks for reading, and happy #blending!
