I've always loved dancing. As a teenager, I enjoyed playing Dance Dance Revolution and Just Dance because I could dance without having to come up with moves as I go. (Freestyling just isn't my thing. 😛) My mother-in-law was a MixxedFit instructor and went to dance fitness classes for years. One day in December 2017, she invited me to one, and from then on, I knew I had a new favorite hobby. She sometimes served as an unofficial substitute instructor at our gym, and as I went to more classes with her, I started helping her teach them. Soon enough, I wanted to teach my own classes, so I started looking for choreography on YouTube. The first song I searched for was "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk the Moon, since it's special to my husband and me, and REFIT®️'s video for it was the first result. After watching it, I looked through the channel and was so excited to see so many other songs that I knew and loved. I taught dance classes unofficially for about a year before I got hired at my gym in August 2019, and REFIT®️ choreography has always been a big part of my classes. I finally got the financial opportunity to become a REFIT®️ instructor in November 2020, and I'm so excited about bringing the revolution to my community!
