REFIT® Marketing and Communications Specialist
Position Overview
We're seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing and Communications Specialist who will drive brand engagement through compelling visual content, strategic communications, and seamless digital experiences. This role combines marketing expertise with graphic design and web development skills to create cohesive brand experiences across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate will excel at translating REFIT's mission into visually compelling content while building functional digital assets that convert prospects into community members.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 80% "on-site" work commitment
- Attendance at all staff meetings
- Attendance at special events/experiences when available or when required (i.e. RECON)
- Portfolio demonstrating graphic design and web design capabilities
- Proficiency in design software and web development tools
JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for creating cohesive brand experiences through strategic marketing communications, compelling visual design, and functional web development. This role will develop and execute marketing campaigns, design branded materials, create landing pages and web assets, and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels. The specialist will work closely with the marketing team to translate business objectives into engaging digital experiences that drive conversions and strengthen community engagement.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Communications & Strategy (40%)
- Develop and execute integrated marketing communications campaigns from concept to completion
- Create compelling copy for email campaigns, social media, website content, and marketing materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product launches and promotional campaigns
- Monitor campaign performance and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization
- Maintain brand voice consistency across all communication channels
- Support customer lifecycle communications and retention campaigns
Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation (40%)
- Design branded marketing materials including social media graphics, email templates, print collateral, and digital ads
- Create visual assets for product launches, events, and promotional campaigns
- Develop and maintain brand design standards and style guides
- Design infographics, presentations, and educational materials
- Create photography direction and coordinate with photographers for branded photo shoots
- Ensure visual consistency across all brand touchpoints
Web Design & Development (15%)
- Design and develop high-converting landing pages for campaigns, events, and product launches
- Create and update website pages using content management systems
- Optimize web pages for user experience, conversion rates, and mobile responsiveness
- Implement basic SEO best practices in web development
- Collaborate on website improvements and functionality enhancements
- Maintain and update existing web properties
Analytics & Optimization (5%)
- Track and report on campaign performance across digital channels
- Analyze website analytics and conversion metrics
- A/B test design elements and messaging for optimization
- Provide monthly performance reports with actionable insights
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills
- Graphic Design: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva
- Landing Page Creation: Experience with landing page builders
- Marketing Tools: Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo), social media management tools, Google Analytics, and Meta Ads Manager
- Digital Advertising: Proficiency in Meta Ads Manager for Facebook and Instagram campaign creation, management, and optimization
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management tools
Professional Skills
- 2+ years experience in marketing communications, graphic design, or web development
- Proven portfolio demonstrating design and web development capabilities
- Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and conversion optimization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field
- Experience in fitness, wellness, or lifestyle brand marketing
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing best practices
- Photography and video editing skills
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and online course platforms

- Complete brand asset audit and organize digital asset library
- Create 3 high-converting landing pages for upcoming campaigns
- Design and launch 2 email marketing campaigns with above-average open rates
- Establish reporting framework for tracking campaign performance
First 6 Months
- Increase landing page conversion rates by 15% through design optimization
- Create comprehensive brand style guide and design standards
